Pittsburgh Winter Beerfest is one of the largest craft beer events in the country, held annually at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh. The 2026 edition features two sessions on a single day — an afternoon session from 1 PM to 4:30 PM and an evening session from 7:30 PM to 11 PM. Each session offers a full lineup of craft beer sampling from numerous breweries.
Regular admission tickets ($67.50 advance) include a 5-ounce souvenir acrylic mug and unlimited beer sampling throughout the session. Early admission upgrades provide an 8-ounce souvenir mug and earlier entry. A designated driver option is also available with a $5 food booth coupon. Connoisseur Level tickets for select sessions include a ballroom reception with appetizer bites.
The convention center setting provides a spacious, climate-controlled environment for winter beer tasting, making it one of Pittsburgh's signature cold-weather events.
Pittsburgh Winter Beerfest grew out of the Steel City's thriving craft beer scene, becoming one of the anchor events in the city's winter calendar. Organized by Beers of the Burgh, the festival found its home at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, whose massive exhibition halls provide the perfect indoor setting for a large-scale winter beer tasting.
The festival has evolved over the years from a single-session event to a multi-session format, with the 2026 edition offering afternoon and evening sessions. The tiered ticket structure — from designated driver to Connoisseur Level with its exclusive ballroom reception — reflects the festival's broad appeal, from casual beer fans to dedicated craft beer enthusiasts.
Pittsburgh's beer culture has boomed in recent decades, and the Winter Beerfest serves as a showcase for the region's brewing talent alongside national craft breweries. The event has earned a reputation as one of the largest craft beer gatherings in the country.
