The Little Woody is Bend's beloved barrel-aged beer, cider, and whiskey festival, held annually on the lawn of the Deschutes Historical Museum in downtown Bend. The 2026 edition — the festival's final year — takes place Saturday, August 29, from noon to 9 PM. This farewell celebration brings together barrel-aged beers, craft ciders, whiskey tastings, carefully selected wines, live music, food vendors, and the festival's iconic gnome costume contest.
Tickets are remarkably affordable: The Gnomaste package ($18 advance, $20 at gate) includes 10 tasting tokens, while The Gnomie Homie ($20 advance) adds a commemorative tasting glass. Designated Driver entry is just $5. A portion of proceeds benefits the Deschutes Historical Museum, which hosts the event on its picturesque lawn.
With confirmed participants including Deschutes Brewery, Cascade Lakes Brewing, Crux Fermentation Project, and many more, the final Little Woody promises to be a fitting sendoff for a festival that has defined barrel-aged culture in Central Oregon since 2009.
The Little Woody was born in 2009 as Bend's first festival dedicated to barrel-aged beers — a niche that was just beginning to capture the imagination of craft beer enthusiasts. Organized by Lay It Out Events, the festival found a charming home on the lawn of the Deschutes Historical Museum, where the historic setting and intimate scale created an atmosphere unlike any other beer festival in Oregon.
Over its 17-year run, The Little Woody evolved from a barrel-aged beer event into a broader celebration encompassing craft cider and whiskey. The festival became known for its whimsical gnome theme, with attendees donning gnome costumes for the annual contest, and for its emphasis on the art of barrel aging — showcasing how time, wood, and patience transform good beverages into extraordinary ones.
The 2026 edition marks the final Little Woody, as the organizers have announced they're "going out the only way they know how — one perfect day." For fans of the festival, it's a last chance to sip barrel-aged creations, celebrate with the brewers and distillers who made it special, and raise a glass to nearly two decades of Bend's most distinctive beverage festival.
