Traverse City Beer Week is a nine-day celebration of northern Michigan's thriving craft beer scene, organized by Traverse City Tourism. Running from November 6-14, 2026, the event transforms the region's breweries, bars, restaurants, and retail locations into a parade of beer-centric tastings, dinners, workshops, and festivals. The week spotlights the many microbreweries, brewpubs, and craft beer taprooms that have made Traverse City one of Michigan's top beer destinations.
The event features themed days, from special collaborative brews and tap takeovers to food-and-beer pairing dinners and educational workshops. A centerpiece is the Beer Week Passport program, which encourages participants to visit multiple breweries along an ale trail, with prizes and drawings for completion.
Traverse City Beer Week launched in 2018 as an initiative by Traverse City Tourism to spotlight the region's rapidly growing craft beer culture during the quieter fall shoulder season. Northern Michigan, already known for its wine country, had seen an explosion of craft breweries in the 2010s, and Beer Week was conceived to give these breweries a dedicated week in the spotlight.
