In 2009, the organizers behind Gardiner Main Street had an idea that seemed perfectly suited to small-town Maine: close down Water Street in the heart of their historic downtown, invite the state's craft beverage producers to set up shop, smoke some pork, book some bands, and see who shows up. Swine & Stein Brewfest was born from that straightforward premise, and seventeen years later, it has become one of Maine's most beloved fall festivals -- a testament to what happens when good beer, good food, and genuine community spirit come together in the right setting.

The festival's name tells you exactly what to expect. The "Swine" refers to the smoked pork that anchors the food offerings, while the "Stein" covers everything liquid -- not just beer, but wine, cider, mead, and craft spirits from more than twenty Maine producers.
