Naperville Ale Fest is one of suburban Chicago's top craft beer events, running two editions per year — a Summer Ale Fest at Naper Settlement and a Winter Ale Fest at Frontier Park — both in the heart of downtown Naperville. Produced by Lou Dog Events and now in its thirteenth year, the festival features 100+ craft beers and artisanal ciders on tap, food trucks, and live entertainment. The 2026 Winter Ale Fest takes place Saturday, February 28, at Frontier Park with tickets around $68. The Summer 2025 edition is July 12 at Naper Settlement with GA at $60 and Early Entry at $70. Both editions are 21+ events featuring food trucks and a live DJ.
Naperville Ale Fest was born in July 2013, the brainchild of Josh Seago and Lou Dog Events. The inaugural festival at Naper Settlement — a 12-acre outdoor museum village in the heart of Naperville — was an immediate hit, and by its second year in 2014, attendance had grown to nearly 5,000 people, a 20% jump that signaled serious demand for a high-quality craft beer festival in Chicago's western suburbs.
The success led to a Winter Ale Fest at Frontier Park, focusing on seasonal winter beers and limited-release brews. This two-festival model has become a signature of the brand. Naper Settlement itself deserves credit for the summer festival's character — the 12-acre historic village with preserved 19th-century buildings provides a setting that feels nothing like a parking lot or convention center. Combined with Naperville's walkable downtown, the Ale Fest benefits from a location that encourages attendees to make a full day of it. After more than a decade, Naperville Ale Fest has cemented its place as the go-to craft beer event for Chicago's western suburbs.
