The Great Alaska Craft Beer Festival is Alaska's oldest craft beer festival, held every Memorial Day weekend since 1992 in the small town of Haines. Organized by the nonprofit Southeast Alaska State Fair, the festival brings together over 25 breweries, cideries, and distributors at the State Fairgrounds, nestled between the towering Chilkat Mountains and the waters of the Inside Passage.
The weekend kicks off with a Gourmet Brewer's Dinner — an intimate, limited-capacity affair featuring a multi-course meal paired with selections from Alaska's finest breweries. The following day, the main festival offers a Connoisseur's Tasting hour for early access and a General Admission session running from 1 PM to 5 PM. A 5K and 10K fun run rounds out the weekend. Complimentary shuttle service from the Juneau ferry terminal makes the journey part of the adventure. Tickets regularly sell out weeks in advance.
